Aga-risk Entertainment has launched a project to record its stage production “Utyuu kara no Konyakusha” in public at the theater and release it as a video work on YouTube for free, with crowdfunding starting on November 7 (Tue.).
Aga-risk Entertainment is a theater company led by writer/director Yu Tomisaka that specializes in situation comedies. The work is a romantic comedy about a breakup and lover’s quarrel between two men and two women, which Tomisaka wrote for the outside unit Kawaguchi Kikuchi’s two-person play at the end of 2019 and also performed in the omnibus performance “sit on the table” by Okawa Kikaku at the end of 2021.
This project aims to produce a definitive version of the play, which has been performed by various companies but has not been filmed, by two members of the troupe, Yuki Enami and Ren Furuya, and to make it available on the official YouTube channel as a filmed work. The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to make the work available to the public free of charge, not only as a replacement for the company’s name card, but also so that people who have difficulty seeing plays in theaters and people who are not normally interested in theater can easily watch the work.
The public recording will be held at Asakusa Kyugeki Theater in Tokyo on Saturday, January 6, 2024, and tickets will be sold as a crowdfunding return. Tickets will be sold as part of the crowdfunding return. The YouTube streaming is scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2024.
