ao‘s new song “kioku” will be the ending theme for the anime “Onmyoji,” which will be distributed exclusively on Netflix from November 28 (Tuesday).
The song was written by ao, a high school singer-songwriter who debuted in September 2021. It is a ballad that depicts emotion and fragility from a woman’s point of view while staying close to the world of the anime.
Based on the novel of the same title by Baku Yumemakura, “Onmyoji” is a mystery in which Abe no Seimei, an Onmyoji who actually existed during the Heian period, and Minamoto no Hiromasa, a court musician and grandson of Emperor Daigo, confront a demon who was “originally human”. Daisuke Namikawa plays the role of Abe no Seimei and Shintaro Asanuma plays the role of Minamoto no Hiromasa.
The film will also be released digitally on Wednesday, November 8, prior to the distribution of the anime. Comments from ao have also arrived.
Comment from ao
I never thought I would be singing the theme song for the Netflix anime ED, so I was really happy when I found out! I wrote the song about the fragility of wistful human feelings and scenes from the Heian period. I hope you enjoy “kioku” while imagining the feelings of the various characters in Onmyoji!
