Carsick Cars’ first show in Japan will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at WWW X in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Carsick Cars is a Chinese indie rock band formed in 2005. The band features an alternative rock tone, with driving guitar noise and minimalist development coming and going. Their music has received international acclaim, and in 2007 they accompanied Sonic Youth on their European tour. Their song “Zhongnanhai” from the album “Carsick Cars” was a huge hit in China, and they are now a legend in the Chinese indie scene.
Zhongnanhai” is also known as the location of the headquarters of the Chinese Communist Party, and the song is said to be about “Zhongnanhai,” a brand of cigarettes.
