YouseiDaizukan’s stage play “Mukankei no Giovanni” will be performed at the Kichijoji Theater in Tokyo from October 13 (Fri.) to 15 (Sun.).
YouseiDaizukan is a three-person creative unit consisting of director/choreographer/dancer Yuriko Nagano, scriptwriter/prop maker Unagi Iizuka, and sound/video producer Hajime Suzuki. This performance will mark the 10th anniversary of the Fairy Big Book, and will be their solo performance.
The piece “Mukankei no Giovanni” is inspired by the shutters that actually exist at the Kichijoji Theater, and depicts a strange fairy tale that takes place in and around the shutters through a mixture of dance and comedy. The script is by Unagi Iizuka, and the choreography and direction are by Yuriko Nagano. In addition to Iizuka and Nagano, the cast includes Moe Abe, Haruki Jinbo, Reina Sumi, Ryota Nakamura, Minoru Hatanaka, and Ken Hirayama, as well as voice actors Norihiro Urai and Masaaki Hirai, both DanseiBuranko.
Each performance will also feature an after-talk, with Sohei Waksaka giving a talk on Friday, October 13 at 19:00, theater journalist Kyoko Tokunaga on Saturday, October 14 at 14:00, and Ryohei Kondo of Condors on Saturday, October 14 at 19:00, as well as a talk on Sunday, October 15 at 14:00, featuring YouseiDaizukan and a talk by the same cast members.
