Aru☆Company Labo’s “POPPY!!!” will be performed at Zatsuyu, Shinjuku-Sanchome, Tokyo, from September 27 (Wed) to October 3 (Tue).
Aru☆Company is a project and producing company created by Mitsuru Hirata and Kanako Inoue. The company does not take the form of a theater company, but aims to create human-centered theater through communication between the playwright, director, and actors at each performance. The 15th performance of “Areno” written and directed by Yuko Kuwabara of Gekidan KAKUTA, won the Hayakawa Tragic Comedy Award and the Yomiuri Literary Award for Best Drama and Scenario.
Aru☆Company Lab is a new innovation of Aru☆Company.”POPPY!!!”, premiering in 2021, is said to be a story about people who seem lazy but are serious, pure-hearted, kind, and passionate.Written and directed by Shigenobu Noda, leader of Momoziriken. The cast includes Mitsuru Hirata, Kanako Inoue, Mizuki Machida, Kotaro Hirata, Minori Tokuhashi, and Shoko Aoyama.
Jishin Noda commented: “We were two lovers 40 years ago.
This is a story about three relationships: two people who were lovers 40 years ago, two people who plan to get married soon, and a couple whose marriage is not going well. There are problems between them, things that don’t work out, and people who are struggling to be with someone else. I hope that the regrets that remain forever, the worries that accumulate in daily life, and the like, will one day turn around for you. I hope you will laugh and enjoy watching it.
