The film “Sick of Myself” will be released in theaters on Friday, October 13.
The film depicts a protagonist who is unable to become anything but himself, and who loses sight of himself as he pursues the art of gaining attention through lies and exaggeration, using his need for approval as a starting point. This is the second feature film for Kristoffer Borgli, who wrote and directed this film.
Kristine Kujath Thorp plays the role of Signe, the protagonist who embodies a comical self-aggrandizement with his entire body. Eirik Sæther and Fanny Vaager have also been cast.
In the trailer, Signe, who is jealous and impatient with her boyfriend Thomas, who is becoming a famous artist, turns to dangerous illegal drugs to get attention, and as a result, she develops a skin disease due to a side effect of the drugs. The film depicts how she attracted the attention of the media and made headlines in newspapers and magazines.
The visual, which was also unveiled, was designed by Idea Oshima, following the teaser visual. It shows Signe dressed in a bright salmon pink hoodie with a mask covering her face, trying to take a selfie.
