The film “Autobiography” directed by Indonesian director Maqbool Mubarak, will be released on September 16 (Saturday), and a poster visual and trailer have also been released.
The film is an allegorical depiction of modern and contemporary Indonesia, filled with violence and deception, and won the FIPRESCI Prize at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. At the 23rd TOKYO FILMeX, the film received rave reviews from jury president Rithy Pan and was highly acclaimed, winning the Best Film in Competition award.
This is the first feature-length film by Maqbool Mubarak, a film critic-turned-director.
