Hikaru Utada announced the upcoming release of the remixed version of their latest single “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-” on August 25. The new remix, “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made- (Taku’s Twice Upon a Time Remix),” was produced by DJ and record producer ☆Taku Takahashi, who formerly collaborated with Utada for “DISTANCE (m-flo Remix)”.
Utada’s latest single “Gold -Mata Au Hi Made-,” is the theme song for the movie “Kingdom III: Flame of Destiny.”
☆Taku Takahashi, known as a member of m-flo, also remixed Utada’s “DISTANCE” in 2001, and joined a DJ event to celebrate the release of Hikaru Utada’s vinyl album last April. He commented on this forthcoming release.
I’m so happy that Utada had me again! I related a lot to the original version, so I made it sound different from the original. Even though it’s a remix, we did a bit of recording and had a lot of fun working together on it as if it were a session, sharing our opinions.

On the same day of the release, Hikaru Utada will join ☆Taku Takahashi’s radio program TCY Radio on block.fm at 9pm. In addition, ☆Taku Takahashi will also perform “Hikaru Utada Only mix DJ live streaming” on the Utada Hikaru staff Instagram account around 10pm.
