The Japan-Korea joint theater production “Three Sisters of the Outside World” will be performed again at the Kanagawa Arts Theatre (KAAT) from November 29 (Wed) to December 10 (Sun).
Three Sisters of the Outside World,” which premiered in 2020, is an adaptation of Chekhov’s play “Three Sisters” set on the Korean Peninsula under Japanese rule. The adaptation and script were written by Song Ki-woon, artistic director of the Korean theater company 12th Language Theater Studio. The production was directed by Junnosuke Tada, the leader of the theater company Tokyo Death Rock.
The work, which is being staged again for the first time in three years, has been revised to respect more diverse perspectives. Newly joined by Sato Osamu, who has appeared in “Yakiniku Dragon” and other Japan-Korea co-productions.
Tickets will go on pre-sale at KAme (Kanagawa Members) on Wednesday, September 27, and will go on general sale at various play guides on Saturday, September 30.
