The 23rd main performance by the theater troupe Obonro, “Tsuki no Kagami ni Utsuru Koe” will be held at Theater Mixa in Mixalive TOKYO in Higashi-Ikebukuro, Tokyo, from August 4 (Fri.) to 13 (Sun.).
Gekidan Obonro is a theatrical troupe whose activities originated in the solo street plays of its leader, Takuma Suehara. The company has performed in various places such as abandoned factories, houseboats, and original special tents, etc. “Gemagno Ghost,” performed from January to February 2023, was invited to an international theater festival in the Republic of Moldova.
In 2014, Takuma Suehara’s play “Tsuki no Kagami ni Utsuru Shou” was selected as the best play in a competition held at the Renaiss Hall in Okayama, and was also performed in Taiwan. This is the first time that the Gekidan Obonro will perform this work. The cast includes Keigo Hagiya, Mashu Ishiwatari, Taira Imata, Kosei Shiozaki, Ryunosuke Matsumura, and theater company members Junpei Sahigashi, Megumi Wakabayashi, Rinpei Takahashi, and Takuma Suehara.
