Yuji Sakamoto has signed a five-year contract with Netflix, which will produce and exclusively distribute several new series and films by Sakamoto over the next five years.
Yuji Sakamoto is a screenwriter who has worked on numerous drama and film projects. His film “Kaibutsu (Monster)” was entered in the 76th Cannes International Film Festival and won the Best Screenplay Award, the second time in history that a Japanese film has won the award. He is also known for his screenplays for “Tokyo Love Story,” “Mother,” “The Best Divorce,” “Quartet,” and “Toyoko Soyada and Her Three Ex-husbands.
During 2023, a new movie “Crazy Cruise” starring Ryo Yoshizawa and Aoi Miyazaki will be distributed as the first Nexflix film written by Yuji Sakamoto.
