Commemorating the Museum’s 25th Anniversary—Unseen Treasures from the Collection will be exhibited at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum of Art in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, from July 13 (Thu) to November 26 (Sun).
The Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum of Art was opened to the public in 1998 after rebuilding part of the building that Taro Okamoto used for many years as his residence and studio. The museum’s collection includes unfinished works, multiple works, and related materials.
The exhibition will be a special exhibition of previously unexhibited works from the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum’s collection, including an oil painting from the early 1950s, an unpublished sculpture prototype, and a 5.5 meter wide carpet.
