The film, which has been available on Netflix since June 1, is based on the true story of theFukushima nuclear disaster that occurred on March 11, 2011, from the viewpoints of the government, corporate organizations, and the people who faced the accident at the plant. The film was planned, written and produced by Jun Masumoto, and directed by Masaki Nishiura and Hideo Nakata.
The director of the nuclear power plant, Yoshida, is played by Koji Yakusho, who won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes International Film Festival, and the cast also includes Yutaka Takenouchi, Fumiyo Kohinata, Kaoru Kobayashi, Kenichi Endo, and Yuriko Ishida.
