The remix of Rol3ert’s latest single, “meaning – KIDCOZY Remix”, produced by Vietnamese artist KIDCOZY, was released on March 26 (Wednesday).
Born in 2005, 19-year-old Rol3ert is a rising Japanese singer-songwriter who debuted in August 2024 with the digital single “sweet tear”. His second single, “meaning,” released in January 2025, has already surpassed 400,000 views on YouTube, signaling a rapid rise in his career.
The newly released remix was the winning entry in the “meaning Remix Contest”, hosted by the global music platform SURF MUSIC, which boasts over 36,000 participating creators worldwide. While preserving the emotional essence of the original, this version adds striking electric guitar phrases and a powerful solo, resulting in a dynamic and compelling rendition. A lyric video for the remix has also been released.
On April 9 (Wednesday), the “meaning EP” will be released, featuring four remixes, including KIDCOZY’s version, as well as a special piano solo rendition by Rol3ert himself. Ahead of this, a soft ambient remix by renowned Black music producer SWING-O a.k.a 45 will drop on April 2 (Wednesday). The EP will also include:
– A grand piano R&B remix by keyboardist Gakushi
– A club-ready groove remix by okaerio
