Meg Bonus will release her debut album New,man on April 9 (Wednesday).
Meg Bonus was formed in May 2024 as a unit with Kei Nomoto and Yakumo Kudo, following the completion of a demo recording. In October 2024, Nomoto released the 1st EP 18PERSONAL, where he wrote the lyrics, composed, and performed nearly all of the instruments, marking the official start of her music career. Alongside this album announcement, Yakumo Kudo’s departure from the unit was revealed. Moving forward, the project will be a solo endeavor for Nomoto, although Kudo will continue to provide live support.
The album includes 11 tracks, featuring the euphoric and passionate single “Kassai” and the synth-based dream-pop “Jet.” The song “Vitaminc,” already performed live, features a refined R&B sound, with laid-back vocals blending seamlessly. In “Rof,” a harder alternative rock sound is presented. The album’s lead track, “Haru ni Nare,” is a straight-to-the-heart pop number heralding the arrival of a new season.
Meg Bonus is also set to perform at the free-entry event exPoP!!!!! Vol.170 hosted by NiEW at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo on February 28 (Friday). Tickets can be reserved via the exPoP!!!!! official site (2-drink minimum), with the event also available for live streaming on YouTube.
