The upcoming film ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3,’ set to release on Friday, December 27, has revealed that ONE OK ROCK’s “Neon” will be featured as a theme song.
This latest installment in the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ series, a blend of live-action and CGI animation, continues the Hollywood adaptation of Sega’s globally beloved character, Sonic. The story follows Sonic and his “Team Sonic” as they face off against the mysterious antihero Shadow, who has been imprisoned on an isolated island off Tokyo Bay, leading to high-speed, supersonic battles. Ben Schwartz reprises his role as the voice of Sonic (with Taishi Nakagawa voicing the Japanese dub), while Keanu Reeves takes on the role of Shadow (Japanese dub by Toshiyuki Morikawa), adding to the film’s buzz.
“Neon,” chosen as the global theme song, is featured on ONE OK ROCK’s 2022 album Luxury Disease. This all-English track captures the spirit of Tokyo and Shibuya. Alongside the announcement, a new trailer featuring the song has been released, showcasing dramatic scenes of Sonic and Shadow clashing mid-air and Sonic racing through the streets of Shibuya.
