The special exhibition “Anime Demon Slayer: Pillar Exhibition – And Towards the Infinity Castle” will run from Saturday, November 2, 2024, to Sunday, March 2, 2025, at CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi, Tokyo.
This exhibit is based on the anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to avenge his family, who were killed by demons, and to restore his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon, back to her human form. The original manga, consisting of 23 volumes, has sold over 150 million copies. With 2024 marking the fifth anniversary of the anime’s release, a new TV anime series, Pillar Training Arc, is set to air in May 2024. Additionally, a three-part movie series, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Arc, is in production, generating significant buzz.
This exhibition is the first to focus on the “Pillars,” the top-ranked swordsmen of the Demon Slayer Corps. It highlights the unique qualities and personal stories of the nine Pillars, bringing them to life in an interactive way. The 1,200 square-meter exhibition space, with ceilings soaring 5 meters high, will showcase a three-dimensional representation of the Pillars. The exhibit will also feature around 1,000 original drawings and video installations to deepen visitors’ connection to the Pillars.
Upon entering, visitors will receive a “Pillar Tag” card, featuring illustrations of one of the nine Pillars. This card allows visitors to unlock special experiences in specific areas of the exhibit, including hearing iconic quotes and enjoying exclusive audio content, where one Pillar introduces the others. The audio for these experiences has been specially recorded for the exhibition.
Adjacent to the exhibition, CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO CAFE will host the Anime Demon Slayer: Pillar Exhibition – And Towards the Infinity Castle Cafe, produced by ufotable Cafe. The cafe will offer a collaboration menu inspired by the nine Pillars.
Notably, the exhibition will also mark the opening of the CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO, located in the new TODA BUILDING, which officially launches on November 2, 2024. The Pillar Exhibition will serve as the museum’s inaugural event.
