Iedeinu Planning’s stage play “rika ni Yoroshiku” will be performed at SCOOL in Mitaka, Tokyo, from Friday, October 18 to Sunday, October 20.
Iedeinu Planning is a theater project launched by director Ayumi Fukui in 2014. The project is based on the idea that “a performance is possible only when there are other people present,” and the members are brought together to create each piece. Through the performance, the project aims to reexamine existing values and senses in contemporary society, and to capture what is difficult to verbalize.
This performance is a repeat of “Give My Regards to Erica,” which was written by Masaya Uota in 2023. It is a conversational drama about a man and his lover’s separation and departure, and the cast includes Tomoyoshi Shigeyama and Ruri Hirayama.

After-performance talks are scheduled during the run, with essayist Chikako Koga participating in the 2:00 p.m. performance on Friday the 18th, writer Osamu Konuma in the 2:00 p.m. performance on Saturday the 19th, and the creative members of “Erika ni Yoroshiku” in the 2:00 p.m. performance on Sunday the 20th.

Playwright Masaya Uota comments
When I saw the first performance last year, I felt that even though the performance was over, the voices that were uttered in the play would remain, imbedded in the play. In the reenactment, I guess you could say that a double voice rises up, the voice uttered on the spot and the voice of the past that has seeped into the text. As a writer, this is a very, very happy and moving experience.
There is no end to news and events that make me feel sad and empty, and sometimes I wish the world would just break up, and I think that almost everyone has that cold, burned-out heart. But that is why I sincerely hope that this little story about love will be brought to you with even more power. Whether you have seen the first performance or not, please come and join us.
