Jeron Braxton’s first solo exhibition in Japan, “DOPAMINE,” will be held at LOVUS gallery in Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku in Harajuku, Tokyo, from June 8 (Sat).
Jeron Braxton is an artist and animator based in Los Angeles. Known for his nostalgic and unique visuals that deal with many contemporary issues such as black culture, consumerism, mental health, and social justice, and pay homage to the video game style of the early 2000s, he won the Best Animated Short Film Award at the “Sundance Film Festival” in 2018 and 2022 In 2006, he animated the Louis Vuitton SS22 campaign created by Virgil Abloh. He has also created music videos for The Weeknd and alt-J. He is currently working with rapper Kid Cudi on his first animated feature film, SLIME.
The exhibition consists of a series of works depicting the iconic character “Oxycotton Tail” created by Jeron Braxton, and will include canvas paintings, video works, and new silkscreen prints. On June 7 (Fri.), there will be a free admission reception and an after-party in Shibuya.
