Kenji Ozawa’s Nippon Budokan concert “LIFE Reproduction Live” will be held on Saturday, August 31.
This anniversary live concert will be held on the day exactly 30 years since the release of his 2nd album “LIFE” on Wednesday, August 31, 1994. Almost all of the major musicians who participated in the recording at that time, including NARGO, Masahiko Kitahara, GAMO, Yuichi Oki (above, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra), Schadaraparr, Hicksville (Megumi Mashiro, Shinya Kogure, Yasuhiro Nakamori), and Takayuki Hattori’s orchestra will perform as “LIFE Reproduction Live Performance musicians”. The songs will be performed using the same equipment and techniques as in those days as much as possible.
In the latter half of the performance, they will perform “Boogie Back Tonight (nice vocal),” a collaboration with Schadaraparr, “Lovely,” “The Reason We Are Going on a Journey,” and other songs from “LIFE. ” and other songs from “LIFE”. The other songs will be performed in the first half of the concert. Requests for the first half are being solicited via Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) in the form of posts with the hashtag “#LIFE Kenji Ozawa”. A comment from Ozawa on the occasion of the announcement of the performance has also arrived.
The album “LIFE” was released on August 31, 1994. Exactly 30 years later, on Saturday, August 31st, at Nippon Budokan, I will be performing all the songs from “LIFE” along with members of Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, SCHA DARA PARR, HICKSVILLE, and an orchestra conducted by Takayuki Hattori… in other words, with all the wonderful people I recorded the album with. For songs that have three keyboards, they will be reproduced by three keyboardists. It should be like, “That sound!” Please come along with friends you used to listen to the album with, or bring your children who are recently interested in music. On the way back home, they might ask, “Dad, why are you crying?” [Laughs].
In the first half of the live performance, I’ll play songs other than “LIFE.” If there are songs you want to hear, please let me know on Instagram or Twitter with #LIFEKenjiOzawa. If possible, please share personal anecdotes as well.
Thank you very much for your support over the years. Let’s finish by singing “Aishi Aisarete Ikiru no sa” together and return to our current lives.
With family and friends.
