Singer-songwriter Merlion will hold the first jacket artwork exhibition “Gokigen Exhibition” in its career.
Merlion will release its first full-length album “Gokigen” in nine years on May 22 (Wed), and will hold a solo live concert at WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo on June 27 (Thu).
The exhibition will be held at Bankrobber LABO, a gallery space on the second floor of HMV record shop Shibuya, from June 15 (Sat) to 30 (Sun). The exhibition features original and reproduction paintings by a total of 17 illustrators, cartoonists, and photographers who have been involved in Merlion’s 15-year career. The exhibition will include illustrator Taku Bannai, who has created visuals for the theater company Loro’s “BGM” and the movie “Honey Boy,” and illustrator 5ruruim, who is also active overseas, as well as Sho Kaga of the comedy duo Kaga-ya, who has worked as a cameraman for several media.

Born in Hinamatsuri and raised in Yokohama.
Since 2009, she has been performing live, producing music, writing, acting, podcasting, and more in and around Tokyo.
He has released a total of 12 albums on the discunion/DIW label MY BEST!, ROSE RECORDS, which Keiichi Sogabe presides over, and the independent label NIYANIYA RECORDS.
His latest full-length album “Gokigen” (2024) is scheduled for distribution and release on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
On June 12 (Wed.), “Umi e Umi e Umi e Umi e” 7-inch record with Yasutsugu Miura (□□□□) Remix will be released.
From June 15 (Sat) to June 30 (Sun), “Gokigen Exhibition,” an exhibition of jacket artwork by 17 participating artists, will be held at HMV record shop Shibuya 2nd floor Bankrobber LABO.
On June 27 (Thu), a one-man show will be held at Shibuya WWW to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the band’s activities.
