Bao Bao’s stage play “Oi！Saikou ni Ai Nandaga” will be performed from Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 2 at the 4th floor installation studio of the install no Tochuda Building in Togoshi, Tokyo.
“Bao Bao” is a private unit in which actor Kenichi Nagai creates and presents works with members he has offered to work with. They are said to create plays that gently lay out their most precious treasures.
Bao Bao’s first performance is a oneman show based on Nagai’s own past and gender identity. The story revolves around “me,” an art school student, and “him,” an underground performer, who live under one roof. Kyosuke Fujita (Karugamo Danchi) will write the play with Nagai, and will also direct and film the performance.
Tickets are on sale now. On May 31 (Fri.) and June 1 (Sat.), a workshop using the text of the performance will be held.

Hello, My name is Kenichi Nagai. I have decided to start a unit! I will do my best so that this work can be seen by many people.
“Oi！Saikou ni Ai Nandaga” is going to be a story about boys who live together. It is a non-fantasy boys’ love film. Not all of them are fantasy, I think.
With full trust and utmost gratitude and love to everyone who has invited us to be a part of their creations, we are starting a unit called Bao Bao. Thank you.

I am very honored to have been asked by Mr. Nagai to share the first step of this project with him.
We are now in the process of creating a story that will explore Mr. Nagai’s own identity as best we can, just like a hamburger patty.
We are taking care of the world he has seen, heard, felt and thought (with a great deal of tension and responsibility),
I will accompany him to the best of my ability to bring you a wonderful time.
