Yoichi Ochiai and More Artists Featured in Yatsugatake Art Ecology 2023 Exhibition

The “Yamanashi International Arts Festival Yatsugatake Art Ecology 2023” opened on Sunday, November 5 at the Seishun Art Village and other locations in Kitasha City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

This is the first time for this event to be held in Kitasya City, Yamanashi Prefecture. This art festival aims to build a sustainable culture of people and nature by seeking the “richness” of the next generation, which is not limited to revitalizing the local economy or increasing the number of people involved in the community. The concept of the festival is “xenogender – abundant fragmentation [Fossa Magna],” a term that refers to the geographical features of Kitasya City, and the goal is to obtain hints for balancing diversity and solidarity from Yatsugatake, which has a rich ecosystem in spite of its “fragmentation.

During the Triennial, works by Yoichi Ochiai and other exhibiting artists will be exhibited in the Kiyoharu Art Village, which includes the Kiyoharu Shirakaba Museum, Tadao Ando Museum of Light, Rouault Chapel, and Kiyoharu-so, the courtyard and forest of the Nakamura Keith Haring Museum, and the multi-purpose GASBON METABOLISM facility. The overall director is Hitomi Yoshii, president of Seishun Art Village.

Music events are also scheduled for Saturdays during the exhibition period, including DJs YOSHIROTTEN, kRs, and Geju on Saturday, November 11 at GASBON METABOLISM, CHO CO PA CO CHO CO QUIN QUIN and The Hatch on Saturday, December 9 at Kiyoharu Art Village, showmore and Live performances by showmore and Seimaru Togo will be held on Saturday, December 16.
