“Takaido Art Festival 2023” will be held from October 1 (Sun) to 14 (Sat) at five venues around Takaido Station in Tokyo.
After a preliminary exhibition in the fall of 2022, this project will officially start in 2023 as a regional promotion event to enjoy “Takaido” through contemporary art. The works of seven artists, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Takuro Tamayama, Tomotoshi, Futoshi Miyagi, Yuko Mohri, Atsushi Yamamoto, and Ryan Gander, will be exhibited in five venues around Takaido Station, including Alocasia, Cafe Macaboy, STUDIO VISIT, snip, and DairokuTen jinja, with the aim of making contemporary art accessible to all.
The works to be exhibited at “Takaido Art Festival 2023” are carefully selected from the collection of approximately 250 contemporary artworks owned by the art collector unit “THE BLACK FENCE” (Kenichi Kuroki / Yorito Masegi), who live in Takaido.
