The stage play “Shira no Koibun” starring Tsuyoshi Kusanagi is scheduled to be performed.
The show, planned and produced by Sisu Company, will be written by playwright Sou Kitamura and directed by Jugo Tera. Inspired by Cyrano de Bergerac, a well-known play by Edmond Rostand, the completely new play depicts the interaction between Shira Kanaya, played by Kusanagi, and the residents and staff with various circumstances that she encounters at a tuberculosis treatment facility.
It has been 13 years since Kusanagi appeared in a Sisu Company production of “K2,” a two-person show with Shinichi Tsutsumi. The facility’s residents will be played by Sakurako Ohara, Asuka Kudo, Kosuke Suzuki, Mari Nishio, Mayumi Meisei, Chisato Nakai, Yuya Miyashita, Ryosei Tayama, and Yasunori Danta.
The show is scheduled to be performed at the Kyoto Theater in December, the Canal City Theater in Fukuoka, and the Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo in January 2024. Detailed schedule and ticket information will be announced later, and a special website is scheduled to open at the end of August.
