Manabu Koga’s solo exhibition “OPEN TO THE PUBLIC” will be held at OVERGROUND in Hakata, Fukuoka from August 4 (Fri) to 28 (Mon).
Manabu Koga is an editor, designer, and underwater filmmaker from Nagasaki Prefecture. This exhibition will be a retrospective of Koga’s 30th anniversary as a creator and an exhibition of his new works.
The retrospective will include publications from 1993 to 1995, such as the free newspaper “PEPPER SHOP,” which Koga launched, assembly instructions for fictional plastic models serialized in “Monthly Model Graphics” from 1997 to 1999, the Gundam tribute magazines “G20″ and Gundam Fortune Telling,” and other productions up to the early 2000s will be introduced.
As for new works, the exhibition will feature recent artworks centered around the underwater photography series “Underwater Nieso. A video installation work with the latest “Imaginary Modelss” series as its core will also be presented, as well as the fashion brand “PRIX,” the travel bag brand “FLOYD,” the plastic model brand “ARTPLA,” and the swimwear brand “REALISE, In addition, collaborative works with fashion brand PRIX, travel bag brand FLOYD, plastic model brand ARTPLA, swimwear brand REALISE, and wetsuit brand OKINAWABLESSING will also be on display.
In addition, visitors will receive a special booklet “Bessatsu Monthly Underwater Kneeso” featuring new photos of “Underwater Kneeso”.
