The merits of being a designer and a drummer
Takano: I really like the atmosphere of neco sleep. It’s both cool and calm at the same time. It’s a very nice song.
Miki: Thank you very much.
Celeina: Do you have any upcoming live performances?
Miki: The first one is in Osaka. On October 7, we are planning to hold the “Kongari Ongaku Festival” at the former site of the Namura Shipyard in Osaka. The second one will be a two-man show with a band called Kaisoku Tokyo on October 28 at a place called BASEMENTBAR in Shimokitazawa.
Takano: For more information, why don’t you check out NECO Sleeping ‘s SNS?
Miki: Yes, that’s right.
Celeina: Yes. We have been asking Mr. Miki about his various jobs as a drummer and a designer. What do you think is the advantage of having two faces, one as a designer and the other as a drummer?
Miki: I think it is stimulating for me to have a different kind of communication because the people I meet in music and graphics are different.
Celeina: I see. It’s a good way to refresh yourself, and then you go to another platform and get stimulated again.
Miki: That’s right.
Takano: You are a two-faced person, aren’t you? I kind of admire that (laughs).
Celeina: Miki, you are moving to Tokyo in 2019.
Miki: There are a lot of events and the pace is very fast. When I first came here, I was in Corona, so things were pretty laid back, but recently I’ve really started to feel the pace accelerating.
Celeina: When you start in Corona, you see the world in a different way. It’s interesting…I hope listeners will check out NECO Sleeping’s upcoming live schedule, etc. FIST BUMP” Today we welcome Akihiro Miki, drummer of the instrumental band neco sleep and also a graphic designer. Thank you very much.
Miki: Thank you very much.
