Fuki Kitamura to Hold 3rd Solo Concert “vivid:WM” at Shibuya WWW on Saturday, June 7.
Fuki Kitamura, whose debut EP “500mm” released in June 2024 garnered critical acclaim, will hold her third solo concert titled “vivid:WM” at WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo, on Saturday, June 7.
Kitamura was recently named one of the Best Breakthrough Artists at the newly established TOKYO ALTER MUSIC AWARD. She also performs as part of the unit °pbdb with Misaki Umei, and in March, it was announced that she would be joining Tomita Lab in its new lineup. Her single “Used to Fall”, released in January, marked a turning point as she took full control over the production process—handling everything from mixing and mastering to artwork, making it her first fully self-produced work. In March, she made her international live debut with a performance at the official “INSPIRED BY TOKYO” showcase at SXSW in Austin, Texas.
This upcoming show is positioned as a sequel to “vivid:AM”, her largest solo performance to date, held in January at WALL & WALL in Omotesando, Tokyo, which sold out in advance. The new concert title “WM (Wave)”, stylized with tildes over the W and M, visually represents the moment sound appears as a wave—capturing the imagery of audio emerging into form.
Kitamura is currently in the midst of creating her first full-length album. As she works through the creative process, she describes becoming more attuned to the invisible nature of sound—reimagining it as something that can be seen as a waveform. While her earlier work, including “500mm” and “vivid:AM”, emphasized a spatial or three-dimensional sound image, she now explores the idea that even a single line or wave can ultimately generate new dimensions.
