Following the disbandment of CHAI, former members MANA and KANA have officially launched their new project MANAKANA, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their musical careers. Their debut album, “十二〜toni〜”, has been released under their independent label, KODO RECORDS.
The album, which was crafted with a focus on returning to the roots of “sound,” minimizes the use of instruments to highlight the raw essence of music. By tapping into the subconscious, MANA and KANA have created a deeply personal and introspective work. The album’s unique concept incorporates elements of the Chinese zodiac, with each of its 12 tracks representing one of the 12 zodiac signs, adding a layer of symbolism to their sound exploration.
With “十二〜toni〜”, MANAKANA is embarking on a fresh musical journey, offering listeners a glimpse into their evolving creative vision.
MANAKANA has also been confirmed to perform at Earth Day Tokyo 2025, which will be held on April 19 (Sat) and 20 (Sun). The event, focused on themes of the environment and sustainability, will take place at Yoyogi Park and feature live music performances along with various booths. Admission to the event will be free.
