The horror film ‘Terrifier 3,’ set to be released in Japan on November 29 (Friday), has unveiled its poster visual and trailer.
This film is the third installment in the series, following 2016’s ‘Terrifier’ and 2022’s ‘Terrifier2.’ The story revolves around the residents of Miles County, who are trying to celebrate Christmas, only to be plunged into fear and despair by the increasingly sinister clown-themed serial killer, Art the Clown. Directed and written by Damien Leone, who made his feature film debut with ‘Terrifier’ in 2016 after self-studying special effects, makeup, and sculpting, the film stars Lauren LaVera reprising her role from ‘Terrifier2’ David Howard Thornton returns as Art the Clown, continuing from the previous two films. In the United States, the film achieved an impressive box office gross of $21.52 million (approximately 3.2 billion yen) within just four days of its release, debuting at number one in the rankings.
The newly released trailer features Sienna and Jonathan, who survived the Halloween massacre in the previous film, being relentlessly pursued by Art the Clown as they resolve to “end it this time.” It also showcases Art the Clown gleefully tormenting people while dressed as Santa Claus. In the latter half of the trailer, the Japanese version of the image song, “The Devil In Me,” by the rock band DIR EN GREY, is featured, along with a recommendation comment from the band’s vocalist, Kyo.
Kyo / DIR EN GREY Comment:
Super cute.
This is the prettiest it has ever been.
It’s a film that will surely bring happiness to anyone who loves cute things.
With the release of the trailer, new stills have also been unveiled. The images feature Art the Clown grinning with arms wide open, the new villain Victoria who is key to this film, Siena struggling with trauma, and a woman in the midst of a scream.
