Yami Agari Theatre’s stage play “Fictional Hong Kong IBM” will be performed at Pegasus Hall in Hokutopia, Oji, Tokyo, from May 1 (Wed) to 6 (Mon).
Yami Agari Theater is a theater company founded in 2012 by writer / director Shizuka Kasaura and actor Mutsumi Kato. The concept of the company is “to present both the negative and positive aspects of people with the same high tension as if they had just recovered from an illness”.
The performance is about a couple watching the cyberpunk movie “Fictional Hong Kong IBM” on their first date under the theme of “spoilers. Kasaura commented, “We are a theater company that does not have much of a love story image, but this time we are fired up to do a love story. Generally speaking, a love story is about the process of choosing one person out of countless possibilities, but recently I saw a topic on Hatsugen Komachi asking people if they would marry the same person if they were reborn, and the opinions were split down the middle. Surprisingly, I thought, everyone could go with the same person.” She stated.
Kasaura wrote the script and directed. The cast includes: Itsuki Okuyama, Nanami Kajikawa, Takumi Kasegawa (knock), Mutsumi Kato (Yami Agari Theater), Naoko Kojima, Yoshinori Kobayashi, Yu Saegusa (Tarizu), Yugo Sasai (guizillen), Takeshi Sasaki, Sunny, Sannagi, Hanako Tomioka (mochi mochi / Matilda Apartman), Masaaki Ninomiya (Motowaka), Maru Hasegawa, Wataru Morita, and Kurara Yuasa (knock) are among the names on the list.
Tickets are on sale now. A “spoiler discount” related to the theme is also available. For details, check the troupe’s official website.
