Helsinki Lambda Club’s first UK tour “Helsinki Lambda Club UK Tour 2024 “HLC AIRLINES”” will take place in May.
Formed in 2013, Helsinki Lambda Club is a three-piece rock band consisting of Kaoru Hashimoto (Vo / Gt), Taoki Kumagai (Gt), and Kodai Inaba (Ba), who have performed overseas numerous times starting with Hong Kong in 2019, and will perform at “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL” in 2022 as the eve of the festival. Their live performances have been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad. In March 2024, they will perform for the first time at SXSW in the U.S., which is known as a showcase for next-generation artists.
In addition to their previously announced appearance at the “The Great Escape 2024” showcase festival in Brighton, England, the tour will also include performances in London and Birmingham. Both shows will feature support acts. Hashimoto and Kumagai studied abroad in the UK when they were students, so the tour will be held in a country that holds fond memories for them.
A crowdfunding campaign will also be held in conjunction with the tour. The plan is to provide a video recording of live performances and documentaries from the tour, as well as live soundtracks, as returns, details of which will be announced later.
Hashimoto’s comment was also released in conjunction with the decision to hold the tour.

We’ve been fortunate to see an increase in our overseas activities since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. In May, we are excited to embark on our long-awaited UK tour. It all started when we were invited to perform at The Great Escape, a major showcase festival in Brighton. This opportunity inspired us to extend our tour to other parts of the UK for about a week. The UK holds a special place in my heart. When I was 21, I spent over a month in the city of Bristol, an experience that profoundly influenced my life and played a significant role in shaping the concept of our band, Helsinki Lambda Club. Returning to this place, which can be considered our roots, after over a decade, but this time as a band and as professionals, is deeply nostalgic for me. Playing in the UK feels like taking a significant step towards an exciting future. However, as with our recent US tour, traveling with the band incurs substantial expenses. Therefore, we would like to ask for your support through crowdfunding. We plan to document our experiences in the UK through videos and recordings and aim to provide meaningful rewards that everyone will enjoy. We will announce more details about the tour and the rewards in the coming days. We hope you’ll look forward to it as much as we do. Although it’s our first time and we’re feeling nervous, our main goal is to share joyful moments with everyone. Thank you for your support.
