S.A.R.’s first full-length album “Verse of the Kool” was released on Wednesday, March 27, and the music video for the lead track “Cannonball (feat. Meliya Terakubo)” was released at the same time.
S.A.R. is an alternative crew that handles all kinds of productions, including music, videos, and artwork, by the members themselves. S.A.R. is an alternative group that produces a wide range of music based on soul, R&B, hip-hop, and jazz, but also reflecting the roots of each member. On Friday, March 29, they will perform at NiEW’s free admission live event “exPoP!!!!! Vol. 160” on Friday, March 29.
The album contains a total of 13 songs that S.A.R. has reconstructed based on all of his musical influences. The three interludes that bear the album’s title were recorded in a recording studio, and were cut from the original lengthy session recordings. The album also features S.A.R.’s first guest artists, jazz trumpet player Reiya Terakubo and neo-soul singer Lil Summer.
The music video for “Cannonball (feat. Reiya Terakubo)” is now available on YouTube. It was directed by Shun Takeda, who has directed numerous music videos for S.A.R.
