Puppets nurtured in turbulent Central Europe are weapons of the people’s resistance
I grew up in Setagaya and studied in Central Europe, and I am proud of this activity!

Japan has a rich tradition of puppet theater, and television is filled with puppet characters,
However, puppet theater as a modern form of theater has not flourished, and I was feeling a bit bewildered,
This is a great chance to see the latest puppet shows from around the world!
I am also looking forward to hearing Yuya Honda’s music again.

Making and presenting a puppet show with familiar objects is similar to making and distributing a zine with risographs.
Puppetry and risograph are the last non-authoritarian arts!

Puppet companies from seven countries in Europe and the U.S. are coming.
I have nothing but excitement and anticipation for the first time in the history of Suzunari, but I also have a feeling that something more is about to happen.
My only concern is that their tall foreheads will bump into the backstage entrance one after another.
During the festival, there will be a talk event titled “Suzunari and Puppet Theater.
To recall, Tsujimura Jusaburo, Yukiza, and the ITO Project,
The most recent ones are Modern Swimmers and Itto-za.
We hope that this festival will be the beginning of the encounter between Shimokitazawa and the arts and culture of the world.
