Tim Bernardes
Tim Bernardes was born in 1991 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and his 2017 solo debut album in Japan has been called “Brian Wilson meets Caetano Veloso” and “the 21st century version of the Brazilian song cycle” by music fans with an ear for early music.
He began playing piano and guitar at an early age and formed a band when he was in his teens. After debuting as a member of O Terno and gaining attention, he released his debut solo album “Recomeçar” in 2017. His unique songwriting skills and excellent vocal performance, incorporating elements of pop, rock, and folk music based on traditional Brazilian music, earned him national and international acclaim, and in 2022 he released his second album, “Mil Coisas Invisíveis,” with a deeper, more introspective style. The result is a beautiful and powerful work that reflects Bernardes’ life experiences and his musical roots.
Bernardes has been featured as a collaborator with renowned musicians since the very beginning of his fame. He has collaborated with Brazilian legends such as Ton Zeh and Gal Costa, as well as David Byrne, Devendra Banhart, Fleet Foxes, and Shintaro Sakamoto, and is increasingly gaining attention in Japan and abroad.
