Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1970. Notable works include *Poetry Recital*, in which performers present a book that holds special significance in their lives through dance; *It’s Written There*, in which the audience is given a 100-page book and the performance unfolds as they turn the pages; *Even When I Cough, I Am Alone*, which synchronizes the body with a text composed of symbols representing inhalation and exhalation projected onto a screen alongside haiku quotations; *Yokohama Stay*, a daily audio record of her thoughts on how to create dance works; and *The Sailors*, in which four dancers challenge the freedom and constraints of choreography on a swaying stage set; among others.
