Born in 1948. After moving to the United States in 1970, he has continued to create art while traveling back and forth between New York and Japan since 1974.
His early representative works include the “Diorama,” “Seascape,” and “Theater” series. In 2008, he founded the architectural design firm “New Materials Research Institute,” and in 2009, the Odawara Cultural Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation. In 2017, he opened the cultural facility “Odawara Cultural Foundation: Enoura Meteorological Observatory,” which took 10 years to build from its initial conception.
