#Minyo Crusaders
Formed by guitarist Katsumi Tanaka and minyo singer Freddy Tsukamoto, both of whom live in Fussa, a town in western Tokyo where the U.S. Yokota Air Base is located. The group has been experimenting with chemical reactions between various dance music from around the world, such as cumbia, biggin, boogaloo, calypso, afrobeat, rumba, and reggae, and Japanese folk music, which is being lost. In 2023, he released his 2nd album “Nihon minyo chindoju/Tour of Japan”, his first album in 6 years. The song “Chiiawase Ondo,” to which he contributed, has been broadcast and distributed on NHK's “Tensai Terebikun” music corner (MTK) since July 2024.
