The special exhibition “Capcom Creations Moving hearts across the globe” will be held at the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka from March 20 (Thu., holiday) to June 22 (Sun.), 2025.
Founded in Osaka in 1983 and still headquartered in Osaka on its 40th anniversary, Capcom is known for its “Street Fighter” fighting game series, “Resident Evil” survival horror game series, “Monster Hunter” hunting action game series, “Ace Attorney” courtroom battle game series, and the “Mega Man” series of action games, whose characters are also popular worldwide. The total sales volume of video game software exceeded 470 million units by March 2022, and the number of million-selling titles reached 116 by 2023.
The exhibition will showcase the spectacular process of game creation and the technologies involved, including proposals and original drawings by the “hands” of developers, posters, packages, and other graphic works that convey the world view of game titles in a concentrated manner, interactive contents that utilize game materials, and the daily evolving technologies that influence game creation. The exhibition will showcase the imagination and creativity of the game creators involved in the grand process of game creation, as well as the ever-evolving technology that influences game production. This is the first exhibition to comprehensively introduce everything from Capcom’s origins to its latest technologies.
Even before the exhibition, various events related to Capcom’s game titles will be held. In Tokyo, “Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary – The Great Hunting Exhibition” will be held at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi from July 19 (Fri) to September 8 (Sun), and the “CAPCOM TRIP TOKAI” campaign in collaboration with JR Tokai will be held until June 30 (Sun).
