The distribution and theatrical versions of the animated films “The Firebird: Eden’s Space” and “The Firebird: Eden’s Flower” will be distributed and released in theaters.
The Firebird” is an animation based on Osamu Tezuka’s “The Firebird”. In this science fiction film, a kind-hearted boy named Com awakens from a 1,300-year cold sleep and meets Romi, who has become the queen of Eden 17, a huge town built by a new species. The two meet Romi, who has awakened from her 1300-year sleep and become the queen of Eden 17, a huge town built by newcomers, and together they fly into space to reach Earth.
The cast information has also been released. Rie Miyazawa plays Romi, who has fled from Earth to the remote planet Eden 17 with her lover; Yosuke Kubozuka plays George, Romi’s lover who is killed in an accident; and Honoka Yoshida plays Com, a boy whose ancestors are Moopi, an alien life form. In addition, Issey Ogata plays the role of Zdarban, a space yakuza from the planet Kerbo 49.
Production is by STUDIO4℃, headed by Eiko Tanaka, who served as line producer on “My Neighbor Totoro” and “The Witch’s Delivery Service.
The distribution version of “The Firebird: Eden’s Space” will be available exclusively on Disney+ from September 13 (Wed.), and the theatrical version of “The Firebird: Eden’s Flower” will open in theaters nationwide on November 3 (Fri., national holiday).
