早稲田大学文化構想学部表象・メディア論系教授。早大演劇博物館前館長。専門はベケット、テレビドラマ、現代演劇など。『テレビドラマは時代を映す』（ハヤカワ新書）発売中。翻訳『新訳ベケット戯曲全集１ ゴドーを待ちながら／エンドゲーム』（白水社）など。演劇博物館とEPADはEPAD発足初年度から連携し、2021年にはジャパン・デジタル・シアター・アーカイブズ（JDTA）を立ち上げた。
