On October 5, Kanayan and Seigi from the comedy duo “Boshimax” appeared, introduced by YouTuber Kaito Ogawa. We asked them about their memories of when they were high school ball players, how Kanayan’s old school, Keio High School, won the summer Koshien championship, and how they decided to go into comedy.

Celeina (MC): The two members of Bosimax are from the Keio baseball team, aren’t they? Seigi-san participated in the Koshien (the Japanese National High School Baseball Championship) when you were in high school.
Seigi: I played in Koshien when I was a sophomore in high school. I was from Shizuoka High School, and at that time I played in the first game on the second day. The third game was at Hanamaki-Higashi High School, and he was the famous Daiki Obara.
Kanayan：No, no, no, Hanamaki-Higashi is Shohei Otani, the second left-handed pitcher.
Seigi: Oh, I see, Shohei Otani.

Seigi:Shohei Otani and I were at the same opening ceremony. When I saw his body there, I thought he was going to be a big name in the future, and he has become a big name.

Seigi: Kana-yan holds the record in a university league called the Tokyo 6 University Baseball League. It hasn’t been broken yet, right?
Kanayan: I still hold the record.
Takano: What kind of record is it?
Kanayan: This is the record for the most goals conceded after the war.

Seigi: Keio lost 18-0, a historic defeat.
Takano: It was a sad record.

Keio High School won the summer Koshien championship, and I was there cheering for my juniors.
Celeina: It may be hard to say after such a story, but Keio High School won the National High School Baseball Championship for the first time in 107 years.
Kanayan: They did it. I am grateful. I did nothing but pathetic things. I also went to high school at Keio, so I was directly junior to him. I used to play baseball with Director Moribayashi at that baseball stadium in Hiyoshidai, so I went to Koshien to cheer for my junior to win the semi-finals and the final.
Celeina： Since those days when you were a member of the Keio baseball team, were you able to wear your hair long or wear sunscreen?
Kanayan: I didn’t wear sunscreen, but there were some who did, and some had hair so long that their eyes were hidden by their bangs. I talked about this on YouTube before Keio won the Koshien championship, and at that time I also talked about Director Moribayashi.
He is actually an elementary school teacher who also coaches the baseball team at Keio High School, which is unusual. He usually explains things to elementary school students, so I told him on YouTube that he teaches high school students carefully from the beginning, and when Keio won the championship, that part was picked up by the Internet news. Celeina: Seigi from the comedy duo “Boshimax” selected the song “Kimishidai Train” by ONE OK ROCK. Why did you choose this song?
Seigi: I broke my shoulder when I was in college, and this song gave me the courage to do my best for four years.
Celeina： We have just heard many memories of baseball, but what made you decide to go into comedy?
Seigi：We liked college so much that we went there for five years.
Kanayan：No, no, no. You made it sound like we liked it too much, but we simply stayed in school because we didn’t have enough credits.
Seigi：Yes, I was staying in, I played baseball every day for four years, but in my fifth year, there was no practice or anything, so I was bored. So I asked him, “Do you want to try it? and he said enthusiastically, “That’s how I felt, too”.
Celeina： How did you really feel about it?
Kanaayan: I was like, “Let’s do it”.
Takano: It wasn’t such a nice talk (haha).
Celeina： At first, you were working as a company employee while working as a comedian, right?
Seigi： Yes, that’s right. I worked at ANA until the end of September, and was involved in business strategy.
Kanayan：We were a duo where I was thinking about material while Seigi was thinking about the management of the company.
Seigi: I left the company on October 1, so I just recently became a comedian on my own.
Celeina： You have come at a great time.

Seigi：We are same period.
Kanaayan：Are we same period? You are so senior, aren’t you?
Seigi: Shall we do a same period live concert?

Takano: Now that you two belong to Watanabe Entertainment, is Yanagigari chan of Denko Sekka, who is a reporter for the “BACKPACK TOKYO” corner on Thursdays, your senior?
