When Two Alternative Seekers Clash
-That is also the reason for Mr. Shimaji’s high level of physical skill (laugh). However, listening to the two of you, I still feel that there is something “unexpected” about the two of you. It is said that dancers are professionals with their bodies and rappers “ride the beat,” but I wonder if you are interested in things that are uncontrollable.
Tamaki: But I don’t think that’s anything special. I think that inviting a certain amount of chaos is the basis of creation, and you can’t talk about it without assuming that.

-I think it’s not something you can talk about unless you have that as a premise.
Tamaki: I’m sure that’s not an artist.
-OK, that’s make sense (laughs)
Shimaji: But I really want to be in control (laughs).
Tamaki: No, I want to control it a lot, too (laughs).I like auto-tuning.
Shimaji: I want to be in control, but when I dance with other people, I can’t control them. I can ask them to go in the direction I want to go, but they have their own will. I enjoy and like responding to what I can’t control.

Shimaji: For example, in this case, once the original text is created, I try to see how I can respond to and solve this problem. I feel that my work as a dancer is a long process of improvisation. Of course, it is a lot of work, and problems keep coming up even after I have solved one problem (laughs). (Laughs) Perhaps it is my way of carrying myself into a place where these problems appear one after another.
Tamaki: You really want to avoid things that have a sense of deja vu, don’t you? You are very stoic.
Shimaji: Well, don’t you say that more often than me?
Tamaki: Shimaji-san is more impressive. Because I want to go dark!
Shimaji: The reason I don’t want to do darkening is because I usually know a lot about darkening (laughs).
Tamaki: I’m basically in an industry where there are no dark turns, so I’d like to do so once in a while (laughs). What do you want to do?
