Keiichiro Shibuya’s android opera ®︎ “MIRROR” was performed in Paris in June.
Keiichiro Shibuya is an artist who founded the music label ATAK in 2002 and released the Vocaloid opera “THE END” starring Hatsune Miku in 2012. He founded the laboratory Android and Music Science Laboratory (AMSL) at Osaka University of Arts, and has also composed music for the films “Midnight Swan” and “xxxHOLiC”.
In addition to the main character, Android Alter 4, this performance features Keiichiro Shibuya, a 47-piece orchestra, and five monks. The stage was decorated with images of Justine Emmerle, a close friend of Shibuya, and a total of 12 songs were performed, including “BORDERLINE,” which was released in October 2022.
Part of the video of the performance is currently available on Youtube, and the entire video will be released on the official YouTube page of the Japan Foundation in February 2024.
