Nintendo’s smartphone app Nintendo Music, which lets users listen to game soundtracks, was released on October 31 (Thursday).
Available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, the app features music from Nintendo’s extensive game catalog, organized by title. Users can enjoy tracks from Nintendo Switch titles like Splatoon 3 and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as songs from classics on older consoles such as Super Mario Bros., Tomodachi Collection, and Metroid. Nintendo-curated playlists, including those centered on specific characters, are available, and users can also create their own playlists.
The app includes a “Spoiler Prevention” feature, allowing users to register games they haven’t yet completed to restrict the display and playback of song titles from those games. Additionally, the “Length Change” feature, available on select tracks, allows users to set track lengths to 15, 30, or 60 minutes, enabling uninterrupted playback that mirrors in-game background music.
At launch, music from a total of 22 titles is available, with more tracks set to be added over time. As of November 1 (Friday), Super Mario Bros. Wonder tracks are available.
Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service that provides access to online play on the Nintendo Switch, with plans available at ¥306 for 30 days, ¥815 for 90 days, and ¥2,400 for 365 days. Subscribers do not need to own a Nintendo Switch console to access Nintendo Music.
