TOWA TEI will release the single “TYPICAL!” with Takkyu Ishino on vocals on 7-inch analog vinyl on August 7 (Wed.) from the album to be released in 2025.
The single, written by TOWA TEI himself, will be released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his solo career in 2024. TOWA TEI and Ishino, who have often worked together in the DJ scene in recent years, entered the studio for the first time and finished recording the vocals in 90 minutes for this “do techno” song. In addition to TOWA TEI and ISHINO, comments were also received from close friends tofubeats and Naohiro Ukawa.

The 7-inch with stickers will be available in limited quantities at MACH STORE, TOWA TEI’s official online store, and pre-orders will begin at 18:00 on June 7 (Fri.). A distribution release of the song is also planned within 2024.
TOWA TEI made his U.S. debut in 1990 as a member of Dee-Lite with the album “World Clique,” and moved to Japan in 1994 to begin his solo career with the album “Future Listening! In addition to 12 solo albums, he has also worked with Sweet Robots Against the Machine and METAFIVE. He has also produced numerous works, including music for the NHK documentary “Yayoi Kusama: My Eternal Soul” and musical accompaniment for the Netflix anime “Super Crooks.
Takkyu Ishino formed Denki Groove with Pierre Taki and others in 1989, released his first solo album “DOVE LOVES DUB” in 1995, and started his DJ career. From 1999 to 2013, he presided over Japan’s largest indoor rave “WIRE”, introducing overseas DJs and artists to Japan. Currently, he continues his diverse activities as a DJ, producer, and remixer, and as Denki Groove, is planning a tour of Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in September to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the group’s formation.
