Ringo Sheena’s new album “Houjouya” (放生会) will be released on Wednesday, May 29.
The album, his first new album in five years since “Sandoku Shishi” released in 2019, features “seven divas” including Utada Hikaru, AI, Nocchi (Perfume), Momo (Charan Po Lantern), Daoko, Atarashii Gakko!, and Ikkyu Nakajima (tricot / Jenny High). The album also includes 13 songs, including the singles “Je Suis Libre,” “Adieu Innocente ,” and “toogood,” as well as the latest single, “as a human.” The song with Utada Hikaru will be the album version of “The Sun&moon (In London)” which was released in 2019. Drummer Shun Ishiwaka and bassist Keisuke Torigoe participated in the recording.
Prior to the release of the album, 7 tracks of songs performed with the “7 divas” are being distributed in advance from May 27 (Mon.). Comments from the “7 divas” and official liner notes are available on the album’s special website. In addition, six new music videos with co-starring artists directed by Yuichi Kodama will premiere on YouTube from midnight on Tuesday, May 28.
Furthermore, Sheena has announced her first arena tour in approximately six years, titled “Ringo Expo ’24 -Economic Recovery-” The tour will kick off with a performance in Aomori on Saturday, October 5, and will include 10 shows at 7 venues across Japan.
