Japan’s most prominent vinyl manufacturer Toyo Kasei has launched two new music labels.
“Reach the Beach Records,” one of the newly established labels, focuses on perceptually stimulating sounds ranging from house, techno, and breakbeats to dub, ambient, electronica, and punk. “DEEP GROUND RECORDS,” on the other hand, is for organic sounds such as ethnic music, world music, jazz, acoustic, shoegaze, and left field.
To ensure that the works of independent artists active in the local scene reach listeners in Japan and around the world, both will be involved in music distribution, as well as promotion, orders from record stores, etc. and distribution support for both domestic and international audiences.
As the first labels, “Reach the Beach Records” will release “Vice Sour,” the first single by hip-hop unit Mother Bunka Mura, and “DEEP GROUND RECORDS” will release “Mimyo,” Final Drop’s first new release in 20 years, both on Record Day Both will be released on November 3 (Friday, national holiday), Record Day.
