Music Video Production for All 7 Tracks

I think SATOH really values “visuals” as a tool to shape what’s in his head, and it’s amazing that you’ve created a music video for every song. Of the 7 music videos you’ve made this year, which one do you feel the most satisfied with or convinced by?

Linna Figg:I’m satisfied with all of them. I always like the latest one the most, so in that sense, it’s “21 Century Boys.” We rented a DeLorean, and the whole thing we did was so ridiculous, it’s really fun [laughs].

Over the past year, you’ve been working with various external creators on music videos. What are your current plans for the creative team “FLAG21” that SATOH leads?

Linna Figg: Last year, FLAG21 worked as a creative team for music video production and live VJing / direction. Since SATOH is in a power-up period, he’s been collaborating with various visual creators. As everyone around him is becoming bigger, SATOH also needs to grow more. To truly establish the flag, I think we need to work a bit harder.

To firmly establish the flag, it seems like everyone is currently strengthening themselves externally. I’ve heard some demos of upcoming songs, and some of them seem to completely surprise those who’ve associated SATOH with a particular genre. After hearing those, I thought it’s clear that SATOH values how he expresses “himself” through sound and melody.

Linna Figg: I’ve listened to GRe4N BOYZ and Shonan no Kaze, and some of the songs I made were inspired by the desire to create something that could be sung in that way. It gives a feeling like you’re eating something really sweet. I like that feeling.

It seems like creating these types of songs isn’t just about wanting to reach a broader audience.

Linna Figg: I was just listening to them at home and thought, “This is amazing.” GRe4N BOYZ
and Shonan no Kaze are both fantastic, but personally, there are parts where I thought, “It would be better if it was like this.” So, it felt like, “Why not make it myself?”

What do you want the next year to look like for SATOH?

Linna Figg: I plan to release a lot of songs and also an album. I’ve been slowly working on figuring out what feels right and what doesn’t, and now I feel like I’ve got it, so I want to refine that. Also, I want to go overseas. Last year, I went to Taiwan, and Asia is surprisingly close. I want to visit places like Taiwan and Korea.

Kyazm: I want to push myself further. I want to establish my own style as a guitarist. I’ve been trying different things, and I feel like I’m starting to see it, so now I want to fine-tune it.
