The Adventure Goes On

In the epilogue, a diverse array of creations from Keiichi Tanaami’s collaborations with various brands and artists is on display all at once. The sheer volume of work here could easily fill an entire exhibition on its own.

Continuing from the epilogue, the museum shop awaits visitors with an extensive array of exhibition-exclusive merchandise. Many items feature vibrant colors and high design quality, including collaboration products with well-known brands.

In front of the museum entrance, the large installation “The Great Adventure of Goldfish” gazed upwards at the Roppongi sky. Not content with just bursting forth from the artist’s mind, it extends outside the venue itself, truly embodying a grand adventure.
This exhibition is notably voluminous and densely packed. It will undoubtedly become a foundational reference in discussions about Keiichi Tanaami, an artist whose reevaluation has been gaining momentum in recent years. Whether the artist is steering the reins of memory as a driving force or if memory is propelling the artist forward as a vessel, the exhibition radiates a powerful sense of vitality.
“Keiichi Tanaami: Adventures in Memory” is on display at the National Art Center, Tokyo until Monday, November 11, 2024.
